Immanuel Farms

Ellipse 6

Our urban existence has become untenable for many of us. It is too crowded, too noisy, too polluted, and too stressful. Too often we cannot seek the inner stillness that leads to self-reflection and growth because it is drowned out by the clamor of our urban environments. We seek refuge, a place of peace, a place for sustainable living. We have found a place where we can build.

Immanuel Farms is the sustainable living project of the Community of Immanuel, which was incorporated in the State of California in 2013 as a non-profit spiritual community, under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.

Immanuel Farms has a multi-faceted approach to community farming. The Community of Immanuel (www.communityofimmanuel.net) believes that sustainable living for the 21st Century is exemplified by solar and hydroelectric powered, 100% organic, communal farming in the Tennessee Valley. With an unlimited supply of sunlight, plentiful fresh water, and mineral rich earth, we have the perfect environment in which to grow or raise what we need to live.

Our vision is to raise ostriches and other livestock and to practice aquaponic farming, raising fish and vegetables, and to engage in sustainable living, loving ourselves, loving each other, and loving life. We will grow more food than we will eat and the surplus will be donated to local food banks to feed the homeless and the hungry. We will also provide food for disaster relief.

We will also grow cannabis. Initially, we will grow industrial hemp for smoking and for use in CBD products. We will also grow hemp for fiber to manufacture linen cloth. However, we will be positioned to include growing marijuana as soon as the state of Tennessee passes the law permitting medicinal marijuana to be grown and dispensed in this state. We will teach this way of farming and way of living to people from around the world who will come to experience and to learn, taking the knowledge they gain back to their homes to implement.

We will also operate a retreat with 24 rustic cabins, on 45 wooded acres, a gazebo for meetings and group meditations, a dining facility, and a beautiful natural setting for hiking and horseback riding, fishing, bird watching, and just communing with nature. This will be a place for corporate, spiritual, athletic, and/or any other types of groups who recognize that bonding with each other in a natural environment like this is good for morale, cohesiveness, and general functionality.
